Return of the Djedi

By DARLENE, PRIESTESS OF SEKHMET

“As the mighty bones creek and the ancient One stirs, let the Djedi return. This is the historical moment of our awakening and our call. The impulse and the need for us to ritualize these events in global celebration arise, naturally, in resonance with the mythic awakening of the archetype and because it is now alive in each of us.” MoiRA Timms

Let’s face it, what we are about to do is very unusual. This adventure is not for everyone. For some, it’s the culmination of a lifetime of experiences as if life prepared them just for this moment. Others may participate differently, as witnesses or chroniclers of this unique event. But whatever meaning this expedition may hold, each participant has an honored place. We are all guided by an inner knowing. To activate an ancient bridge between Orion (the Hunab Ku) and the Giza Pyramids to aid the Mayan Solar Initiation Journey towards reawakening the Cosmic Human is no easy task. We must make preparations.

THE NEED FOR PREPARATION

The dismembered parts of Ausar/Osiris represent the spiritual fragmentation of the human condition. On a personal level, they represent the fragmented parts of ourselves. The process of becoming “Osirified” is a re-memberment, a unification or restoration of our humanity.

Meditate upon the symbols of feminine power associated with the Djed. Its usual for the female principle to be present when the Djed (a phallic symbol) gets raised. What’s really interesting is that Ast/Isis, the image of nurturing, life-giving Earth-mother energies and Nebt Het/ Nephthys, image of the dark feminine are always shown working in unison. When they appear with Ausar/Osiris, they work as a unit. They are not interchangeable as they have different psychological functions. When different aspects of the feminine powers within oneself are in equilibrium, the masculine principle can be set aright.

The mini-dramas shown on the national news accurately reflect the issues being explored within the collective American psyche. Anybody can act out unconscious fears and desires. At the moment, issues concerning feminine power are being tested on an archetypal level. The tragic Susan Smith how-could-a-mother-kill-her-children story, Babbitt’s cutting off the penis of her husband, and the blowing up of abortion clinics all demonstrate how out of balance we are. The reaction of the public to these events can have a catharic effect. This may be one reason why the O. J. Simpson trial holds a complex collective fascination. Its a surfacing of our collective dreams.

We make this journey to Egypt not only for humanity but for ourselves. Whenever we need to be tested, it is usually at our weakest point. Every experience we pull to ourselves is therefore symbolic of our inner work, our inner journey towards our Self (RA,) our own inner sun. This inner journey of spirit and the outer journey to Egypt are parallel, if not connected. Our tempered strength wrested from our own selves, is dearly won. But it’s what makes us the most capable of magician/priests!

In order to balance, we must be in balance. The fallout that is happening to everyone has the purpose of tempering. For those familar with the Kabbalistic Tree of Life, it is like walking the path of Temperance from Yesod [”Foundation” (associated with the Moon)] to Tiphareth [”Beauty” (associated with the Sun)]. Keep this in mind when experiencing the effect of the Blasted Tower — we are only crossing it on our way to Tiphareth, the center.

HOW TO PREPARE

For those who are making their sojourn to Egypt and for those who are not, I suggest creating one’s own meditations from the wealth of information provided by MoiRA and Vincent.

Performing MoiRA’s Raising the Djed ritual (included within this packet) is an excellent way to familiarize oneself with the process. For those who wish to establish a firmer link with loved ones who will be in Egypt, I suggest practising this ritual excercise together. Sharing personal experiences, perceptions, and feelings will strengthen group mind and allow deeper insights.

For those people, like myself, who relate to creating ceremonial objects, I have enclosed instructions for constructing a physical Tet (djed), These directions are from”Coming Into the Light” by Gerald and Betty Schueler, a book which explores the Egyptian Magickal System in Western Heremtic terms. As an artist, I’ve discovered a greater depth of meaning when working intimately with symbols. Even if one doesn’t have the materials to create a three-dimensional Tet, simply drawing this and other hieroglyphs may yield some interesting insights.
